  • EU Structural & investment fund

    Funding of £198,000 was secured for a new 3 year, Community Led Local Development (CLLD) programme available for residents unemployed and looking for work.

    The programme offered ‘in-need’ individuals in Castleford and Five Towns tailored access to skills, training and direct employment opportunities. Using the network of a club commercial partners gainful employment was secured for some of the most in need people in the District.

  • REACHING COMMUNITIES FUND

    A successful National Lottery Community Fund bid of £318,000 was secured to help reduce the number of males aged 16-25 entering remand and prison.

    Participants at Wetherby Young Offenders Institute and HM Prison Leeds took part in a 20-week programme, developing soft skills, confidence, tolerance and anger management.

    The culmination of the programme saw young people take on mentoring roles, leading football training sessions whilst obtaining new qualifications and employment opportunities on prison release.

  • POLICE CRIME COMMISSIONER

    Funding of £45,000 helped deliver a new programme ‘The Changing Room’ supporting and expanding interventions with young people (0-25) most at risk of violence (committing and receiving) in the District.

    Funding supported those households placed at an economic disadvantage; with IT support and access to these key interventions.

    VRU (Violence Reduction Unit) funding provided focused online, bespoke expansion offering enhanced diversionary activities and positive messaging.  

  • UK SHARED PROSPERITY FUND

    A significant 5-figure sum was obtained to support the purchase of crucial digital capital equipment (laptops, iPads) for use by ‘digitally disadvanted’ residents in one of the Top 10% most deprived wards of Halton Borough.

    Via an open access in-stadium facility, users of all ages were able to learn a number of key modern skills:

    How to safely access the internet and use search engines; how to use online banking safely; how to shop for food including guidance on budget shopping, seeking discounts and ‘bargains’; how to effectively check comparison sites for energy, insurances and key purchases.

  • CLINICAL COMMISIONING GROUP

    Secured £69,000+ to facilitate strong health outcomes and impacts in the highest priority areas for the city area CCG

    The project benefited young people across Leeds, with varying mental health and physical improvement needs.

    Funding facilitated a physical participation programme, incorporating messages linking good nutrition and health, to encourage all participants to manage their own health better.  Through the project, young people were set on a pathway to instil habits that resulted in better physical and mental health throughout their lifetime.

    Over £100,000 secured to facilitate a 2 year District-wide schools sports programme.

    With a focus on Primary School and Secondary School Rugby League alongside growth for Girls rugby League, the funding assisted the Foundation reach 1000’s of new children most distant from opportunity.

    The programme culminated with a range of playing festivals taking place in stadium offering young people a unique insight and access to a professional Super League stadium.
